At the Police Station
It is important to be aware of your rights on arrest or questioning.
- You can ask for information on why you are being detained
- You can access free legal advice
- You can ask to have a solicitor present during an interview
- You can request a medical examination if you feel unwell
- You can have an interpreter if your first language is not English
You are entitled to ask for legal help when called in for questioning, or arrested by the police.
We can provide free representation at the police station under the Legal Service Commisions Advice at Police Station Scheme.
At Court
We can provide representation before the Youth, Magistrates and Crown Courts, and will advise on the availability of Legal Aid.
